Marc Brackett, Ph.D.

Marc Brackett, Ph.D., is founding director of the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence and Professor in the Child Study Center at Yale University.  His grant-funded research focuses on (1) the role of emotions and emotional intelligence in learning, decision making, relationship quality, and mental health.

Jimmy Tingle


Jimmy Tingle is a humorist, commentator, activist, and entrepreneur and was a 2018 candidate for Lt Governor of Massachusetts. He received 41.3% of the vote in the Massachusetts primary on September 4th 2018.

He is a graduate of UMASS Dartmouth and Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government where he earned a Masters Degree in Public Administration (MPA). He was the graduate school commencement speaker at Harvard graduation for the class of 2010.

 Freeman Hrabowski, Ph.D.

Freeman A. Hrabowski, III, has served as President of UMBC (The University of Maryland, Baltimore County) since 1992. His research and publications focus on science and math education, with special emphasis on minority participation and performance. He chaired the National Academies’ committee that produced the 2011 report, Expanding Underrepresented Minority Participation: America’s Science and Technology Talent at the Crossroads

This keynote panel features the leaders of tomorrow – students from diverse backgrounds, immersed in next generation learning models, who will share their perspectives on shifting toward student-centered approaches to learning. In a provocative, unfiltered and honest conversation, students provide first-hand accounts of what it’s like to reimagine their own education and illuminate their own paths forward.
