The Connecticut Association of School Business Officials (CASBO) is committed to recognizing the best in the school business profession. There are three terrific methods to do this - School Business and Operations Innovative Practices Recognition, Connecticut Celebrated School Business Official Award, and Rising Star Award!
School Business and Operations Innovative Practices Recognition: The purpose of the School Business and Operations Innovative Practices Recognition is to identify effective and innovative uses of public resources in support of education, and to disseminate the ideas or practices for the benefit of public schools in Connecticut.
Recipients will be chosen by a committee of CASBO members based on the potential of the practice to promote and enhance the operation of Connecticut school districts. Operations include: accounting and reporting; financial planning and budgeting; operation and maintenance of plant; administering personnel functions; purchasing and supply management; information systems; food service operations; grant applications and reporting; insurance; collective bargaining; and transportation.
Connecticut Celebrated School Business Official Award: This award was created to acknowledge the value and contributions of outstanding school business officials. Nominees will be evaluated based upon their contributions to their profession, regardless of the size of their districts and their job titles. This award is meant to honor an individual both for current accomplishments and sustained contributions.
Full and regular CASBO members (of at least 1 year), with school business administrator certification (085 or 092 endorsement) are eligible. Nominations may be submitted by full, regular or emeritus CASBO members, or the superintendent or member of the Board of Education of the nominee's district. Self-nominations are acceptable.
Rising Star Award: This award recognizes newer business officials. The criterion is based upon that of the Connecticut Celebrated School Business Official Award, with one main difference. The nominee for this award must have possessed certification for ten (10) years or less. This award was created to enable the recognition of those with less experience but performing at an exemplary level.
Please consider making a nomination for these important and worthwhile recognition awards. The applications and information for these awards are available on the front page of CASBO’s website at www.ct-asbo.org.
