CABE Regional Areas
Nine CABE Areas
CABE is organized into nine geographical regions, called Areas, in order to foster opportunities for board of education members to interact and collaborate with colleagues from neighboring communities.
Area Directors
The activities in each region are coordinated by one or more (up to three) Area Directors, who are elected at the Convention Delegate Assembly by member boards of education in each region. The Area Directors serve two-year terms on the CABE Board of Directors.
Area Directors play an important role in ensuring that CABE members engage as fully as possible in the association’s programs and services. Area Directors work closely with the CABE Liaisons in their region to keep local board of education members informed and involved. The Area Directors also promote two-way communication between the CABE Board of Directors and its members, particularly by sharing with the Board any questions, concerns, and ideas that may arise at the regional level.

Area Activities
The annual CABE budget includes funds to support activities in each Area. The CABE bylaws require each Area to hold at least two regional meetings per year. Area Directors may convene additional meetings, as well as informal gatherings, networking sessions, learning opportunities, or other activities. Each Area typically hosts a legislative breakfast every year, which brings together board of education members and members of the Connecticut General Assembly to talk about critical issues in state education policy and funding.
For a schedule of upcoming activities in a particular region, please contact the appropriate Area Director.
