Common Core State Standards
Along with the many other states, Connecticut is transitioning to use of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). The new curriculum is aimed at ensuring that our students will be better prepared for the future. It entails such changes as how students are taught, when they learn various subjects, how deeply subjects are examined and supports students' knowledge and ability to use what they have learned.
CABE has compiled resources on CCSS and is proud to make it available in one place, on our website. Below are articles, commentary and other information. We hope that it will help boards and superintendents, school faculty, students, parents and the community at large in better understanding this very significant change in schooling of our children.
Feel free to let me know if there are other resources that you believe should be linked to the CABE website.
